Ok, I need some motivation, so I thought I would semi-blog this model, so that you guys can crack the whip if I go two or three days without any progress. This is for Baltimore, 13 May, 40k Single Model.

IPB Image

No conversion work to speak of, just a pair of headswaps on the hammer and the model itself. I'm gonna paint him up as a VSgt from the Cursed Founding Chapter, the Lamenters. Lots of yellow, black and white checks and battle damage. Should be fun. I'll try to post at least one pic each night there is progress. Feel free to stick around and check it out, or you can blow it all off, I'll never know...

All four parts of the Model, Base, legs, torso arms and banner, and head were primed with Citadel Chaos Black Spray last night.

Yes, Yellow over Black...

No, Brown-based yellow tones as opposed to red/orange ones.

Thats gonna take forever... badmoon orcs were bad enough with only limited amounts of yellow.

Going to base Beastial, then snakebite or vermin then golden?

I'll most likely base in thinned coats of Bronzed Flesh, and then shade with a couple of the tones you mentioned.

Yellow on white looks too acid. I wish you could get a bleached bone spray for basing ...

I sat down in the studio last night to get started on the head, only to be stymied by the model's eyes. After about 20 minutes, I stopped, when back downstairs, and watched TV for the rest of the night.

This morning, I was able to paint the eyes in about 6 seconds. So I am glad I stopped last night rather than mess some thing up that wouldn't be repairable.

I plan on finishing the skin and stubble tonight, I'll get a pic up then.
