You will need to find some sedums - a fairly common backyard flower that grows with little canopies of buds that will very realistically simulate branches for your trees (the flower "Queen Anne's Lace" works admirably well too).
Trees are vital to an aesthetically pleasing and tactically challenging wargaming table. Here I show how I made some trees.
Temples, pyramids, ziggurats, you name it. They all make great terrain. Here I show how I made some temple structures from some simple and cheap (mostly free) materials.

Here I show how I made a missile silo from some simple and cheap (mostly free materials) for use with Games Workshop's Sci-Fi minis game, Warhammer 40,000
Hills, the ubiquitous terrain of miniatures wargaming. Here I show how I made some hills from some simple and cheap (mostly free) materials.

People gotta eat. Farms make food. Occasionally a battle is going to happen in a rural area. So let's build some farm stuff!
Car Wars is an autoduelling game of a dark, post-apocalytpic future. The basic premise is similar to that of the Road Warrior, with perhaps a smattering more of civilization.

There are lots of ways of making ponds and water effects, and this little project describes just one.
