This sort of goes along with the "Food Art" section, but here's a really easy (and inexpensive!) way to make a cobblestone street. Start with a very thick layer of white or PVA glue on your base.
Here's my method for making movement trays for any number of troops. The material I use is thin corrugated cardboard or better yet, artboard.
