Subjugators Razorback 0

Jul17

And so begins the uploading of all the stuff I’ve painted recently! This was the first to be painted as part of my Subjugators space marine army, this Razorback will be the command squad’s transport and also served as a tester for the army’s colour scheme. The method was as follows:

  • Spray Army Painter “Army Green” spray primer
  • Ink with Badab Black
  • Drybrush with Knarloc Green
  • Drybrush Kommando Khaki

That was the armour sorted, and then I moved on to battle damage and mud etc. The battle damage was simply painted on with black, and then again with Boltgun Metal. Various browns were used to drybrush on the mud effect around the bottom and “shadows” which not only gives it a muddy feel but also general dirt.

All I did after that was finish off the details – gund, metals, lights, scroll etc. The fist icon on the door was done in freehand, which I roughly drew on in pencil before painting it as a guide.

I have dusted off the camera and over the next few days and weeks pictures will finally be going up of things I’ve been working on and things I’ve completed of the past few months. continue reading »

Unfortunately no progress with the terminator this week, mainly due to working on this commission job – some of the new beastmen minis. I’m looking forward to getting back onto the blood angel once these are done! continue reading »

Another painting session out of the house this week. I’ve had the urge to paint something seriously. It’s a long time since I painted anything to the best of my ability – especially recently. So here’s the start of a Blood Angel Terminator from the Space Hulk box. So far the method has been very simple… aaround 10 layers of GW Blood Red building up the highlights.

MiniPainters Painting Guide: Planning Your Colour Scheme 0

By now you’ll have your models ready to paint – but how do you plan to paint them? I always have a think about which colours each part of the model will be, whether it will work and plan exactly what paints I’ll be using. continue reading »
